IASG Museum of Fishing was to be a contemporary and modern museum situated on the banks of the River Clyde, near the Riverside Museum. The museum was to encompass all aspects of Scottish fishing, and appeal to a broad audience of children, parents, fishing enthusiasts, and researchers. I explored mollusc shells and how they grow over themselves in order to get stronger, much like Scottish fishing’s history and layers of politics and ecological factors.
IASG Museum of Fishing aimed to show the links and development of Scottish fishing and how different layers of politics interconnect and grow on each other to reach the present day. The typography and colours were chosen to be accessible and approachable to everyone, from children to researchers. The finished brand guidelines were printed on matte paper and staple bound. The cover featured a cut out, further reinforcing incorporating layers and their values of exploration and curiosity.
