Book Cover - Redesign

A Clockwork Orange

This project was an editorial redesign.

The object of the brief was to redesign the cover for Anthony Burgess's most famous novel, A clockwork Orange. I wanted to get a feel for the book, and it's personality before I began my design so I set about reading the book and watching the film. This helped to develop 3 separate looks for the client.

Using a range of different mediums, both traditional and digital I thought it best to go with the concept simplicity for the book. This was due to the complicated speech patterns and the twisted plot that ultimately reveals a simple goal, to cause havoc and mayhem. The circles represent 2 different things trying to rule the same space. It reminds me of the main character who could possibly be described as having a multiple personality disorder.
